Installations

Voyages Restaurant, St. John, US Virgin Islands:
This upscale dining establishment located on Coral Bay in St. John, USVI, didn't skimp when it came to the audio system. Based around the Crown 810 Digital Signal processor, this system is state-of-the-art for background/foreground music and dancing. The system uses all Crown power amplifiers. Tannoy loudspeakers are used in the dining rooms and EAW loudspeakers for the bars and lounge. The system provides high-quality audio throughout the venue. From light music for dining to full bodied audio for dancing or just hanging out. The program material, volumes and locations can be automatically determined from a preset schedule or can be operated manually as the mood requires. The equipment for this installation was carefully chosen based on quality, environment and reliability. All speakers were ordered in weather-resistant versions to deal with the high humidity. The system can also be operated via a PC with the control screens that we created using the Crown IQ software. The system was pre-assembled, tested and tuned in our facility. It was then taken apart, packed for shipping and delivered to a shipping container. Once the equipment arrived in St. John and the facility was ready to have the system installed, our technicians flew down and reassembled the system on-site over a couple of days.

Ocean Grove Youth Temple, Ocean Grove, NJ:
This multi-purpose, performing arts facility located on the Jersey Shore was designed to host many different types of youth and community activities. This system was designed to provide a very user friendly operation for simple daily PA chores, and to properly accommodate theatrical performances and concert level bands with full stage monitor mixes. This flexibility was achieved through the use of the BSS 8810 Digital Signal Processor, which allows the user to simply select a preset system configuration. The presets control which mixer is operational and adjusts the multiple outputs to tune the system for the intended application. There is a small microphone mixer for general PA applications. The system also has a 32 input Mackie console that can be operated from (2) locations. The microphone snake has a split built-in with a multi-pin to fan for an on stage monitor mix. The system is a split-cluster design with front fills and subwoofers under the stage. The Youth Temple recently hosted a concert with up and coming touring artists Pillar, Project 86, Falling Up and Subseven. The system performed as expected, providing a concert level experience belying its minimal visual appearance. Once again, we utilized Crown power amplifiers and EAW speakers. Microphones include those by Shure and Sennheiser. Processing is BSS, dbx and PreSonus. Wireless mics are Shure UC series.

Christ Church, Riverton, NJ:
This was a more traditional house of worship sound system installation utilizing some basic yet state-of-the-art audio processing. While it's a simple distributed system, we chose the Tannoy i5AW's for the small visual impact and their very high quality vocal-range performance. Tannoy's patented dual-concentric loudspeaker is unrivaled in its smooth phase and frequency response. This results in a very natural sound that is very intelligible. We coupled these speakers with a Lectrosonics automatic microphone mixer and a dbx digital signal processor to maximize system performance and stability. The dbx processor features automatic feedback control and handles all of the system's equalization and dynamics control. The wireless microphone is a Sennheiser Evolution Series.

Wall Speedway, Wall, NJ:
Located just down the road from our office, Wall Speedway provides an exciting family oriented, racing experience. The system that was in use when we first looked at the facility was woefully inadequate and barely functioning. The new owners wanted the sound system to adequately cover the grandstands and the concession areas without sounding like the small PA horns currently in use. They wanted a modern full-range PA system! The answer was the use of Community R2 series loudspeakers.

To keep the cost of the new system down and minimize the delay or echo you hear from having multiple speakers in multiple locations, we decided on using a single location for a cluster of speakers. The roof of the press box provided a central location. Using high-power, long and short throw speakers, full-range sound can be heard throughout the facility. Of course, hearing protection is strongly advised when visiting any racing facility.
